AMP Concerts became an official business on September 10, 2004 and became a 501(c) non-profit corporation in 2007.
Prior to that, AMP founder Neal Copperman spent four years putting on house concerts,
sporadic small shows and volunteering everywhere. AMP's goal is to
complement the music available around town, providing additional
chances to experience world, folk, acoustic and Americana music
in comfortable listening rooms.
The AMP logo means several things:
- quality music in a suitable environment
- no-smoking shows
- good sound
- concerts that start (and end!) at a reasonable time
